Created on September 12, 1964, Canyonlands National Park has been celebrating its 50th anniversary during 2014! On September 11th, 12th, and 13th in Moab and in the Needles, people who love Canyonlands and our Southeast Utah National Parks came from all over the country to participate. Continue the celebration through the rest of the year and get out for a visit to Canyonlands National Park.

On September 12, 1964 President Lyndon B. Johnson signed legislation creating of one of American’s most spectacular national parks, Canyonlands National Park.
The Friends of Arches and Canyonlands Parks joined by the National Park Service celebrated Canyonlands National Park’s 50th anniversary at the Needles on September 12th, 2014.
Consider this the time to be inspired by the vast wilderness character of Canyonlands, and enjoy the solitude and adventure it offers. Continue the celebration.
